A welcome message greets callers when they phone your number. Record it yourself or use our text-to-speech assistant.

Welcome message overview

A welcome message is the first thing callers hear when they dial your number. It greets them, confirms they have reached the right business, and can share useful information — for example your opening hours, a website address, or a short introduction before connecting to your team.

Why use a welcome message

A welcome message gives a professional first impression. It reassures the caller they have dialled the right number, and buys a few seconds for your phone to start ringing. Without one, callers go straight to a ringing tone and have no idea if they have reached the right place.

You can also use it to set expectations — for example “We are currently experiencing higher call volumes, your call is important to us” — or to introduce a phone menu.

How to create your welcome message

There are two ways:

  • Record it yourself — make a recording on your mobile phone and send it to us.
  • Use our text-to-speech assistant — type your message, choose a voice, and paste the generated code into the dashboard under Settings → Welcome Message. It is live immediately.

The text-to-speech option is especially handy if you want to update your welcome message regularly — for example with seasonal greetings or temporary notices.

Activate your welcome message

Log in to the dashboard, go to Settings → Welcome Message, and enter your text-to-speech code or contact our support team to upload your recording. Changes take effect immediately.

The welcome message feature is included in every subscription at no extra cost.
